I fell in love with Antiques & Brocante and the habits of a chinner because I fell in love with a house. The house inspired so much, like ..... a dormant garden just waiting for someone to ....... push open the gates
Cute Little Houses in the Australian Country Side
I always think cute is relative.
Relative to where you live, perhaps relative to age.
Even, relative to Country. Australia is a young country, and suffers from having only a little more than 200 years of history. And a history that started literally with making the bricks and morter before being about to build the house. A history where by if they needed the supplies they had to wait for the boats to arrive. To a small extent we still suffer that same fate today.
Whilst these examples are not 200 years old, here are some of our little... 'coins de paradis'.......cute little houses about 2 hours drive from Sydney.

Easter best wishes.....

Blue eggs.........
remind me of Easter, remind me of spring, and remind me of my girls when they were little looking for nests in our garden, when we would be out exploring.......
Do you know we have a white rabbit?
He reminds me of Easter too. He is of course French and still lives in France, La Celle St Cloud actually, and he is a grand old white rabbit.
So what have I been doing?......that has kept me so busy.
I am now the agent for Un Esprit en Plus in Australia. Along with Pia, and Recup pas Hassard, Sandrine, and L'esprit de Luna, and Anna from Anna Fleberg, I mounted a stand at Life in Style in Sydney in February.
I have concentrated on bringing so many beautiful things from Europe to Australia, that I forgot to come up for air occassionally and write on my blog. So busy, that I have not even looked at Flo's blog (gourmy) in a few weeks.
I have lots of catching up to do.

It's Jacaranda season in Sydney
As the winds blew yesterday thousands of tiny blossoms
fell and left behind this morning purple blankets on the
roads.
Its hard not to be impressed with this tree as the colour
breaths that summer in the southern hemisphere is on its way.

Babies and Jacarandas..........There is a story that is told in Sydney.......
for every tree seen in and around the suburbs
marks the address of once a new born.
At the turn of the last century, a Doctor and his nurse would give
each new mum a Jacaranda plant to be planted in the garden
as, they took home their new baby.
When you look at the splashes of purple all over Sydney its a story,
that just might be true.
Under a cloud of red dust......
Its not every morning you wake up and find the sun is up...........but it is not shinning through your window, as it normally does. Rather, what is waiting for you on the other side of your bedroom curtains is a blanket of red bull dust, blocking all that is familiar to us, and resembling more like one might imagin Mars.
Sydney woke this morning to the strong smell of dust, and a feeling of invasion. Those images that are often portraited in a bad sci fi film. A dust storm had worked its way east across the state of New South Wales and had blanketed Sydney completely. The normally blue and green landscape of inner sydney harbour was now just shades of red and orange, with visability just down to a couple of meters.
Yes, I live in a sunburn country yes, but what is normally reserved for inner Australia found itself amongst the city dwellers of Sydney this morning....leaving us all thinking about climate change.
